Diversified Manual Techniques:

Diversified indicates that Dr. Janeen is thoroughly trained in multiple techniques to achieve a lasting alignment and prolonged health benefits.  She incorporates Manual adjustments along with Myofascial therapy, Trigger Point therapy, Decompression / Traction, Sacro-occipital technique (SOT), Activator technique, Drop Table, PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) stretching techniques, Kinesiotape therapy, and her recent Osteopathic program techniques.  Janeen offers her own comprehensive technique that will re-define your previous experiences with other Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, and Bodyworkers. Currently, she is studying under Guy VOYER and is enrolled in his many programs to achieve mastery of the body.  She also is enrolled with the Postural Restoration Institute and Advance Biostructural Correction and is actively working through the long list of courses.  She has also achieved the ELDOA Trainer Certificate and is among the few but best therapists trained to help you heal yourself.

ELDOA Trainer: (Etirements Longitudinaux avec Decoaptition Osteo-Articulaire)

Definition:  The ELDOA™ are postural exercises (LOADS) that you can do yourself with the primary goal being to increase the space within a chosen articulation. As the ELDOA™ “create” space, there is an improvement in joint mechanics, increased blood flow, reduced pressure on the discs, a reduction of pain, spinal disc rehydration, better muscle tone, improved posture, and a sense of well being and awareness.

The human spine is a complicated and vital structure. Compression and articular blocks can cause pain, arthritis and neurological conditions. The ELDOA™ postures are a highly effective solution to these conditions. The ELDOA™ are very precise postures that target a specific joint region to provide relief from pain and restore balance.

Designed by French osteopath, Guy VOYER, DO, the ELDOA™ utilize myofascial stretching to put tension around a primary lesion making it the center of “separating forces.” The myofascial tension solicits a postural normalization in a specific joint resulting in numerous benefits.

LOADS (Longitudinal Osteo-articular Decoaptation Stretching/Strengthening – the English acronym) are postural self-normalizing techniques, which aim at widening the space within a pair of joints. It is possible in one minute a day to relieve disc compression between L5-S1 or even more specifically at the base of the long arm of the left sacroiliac joint.

SomaTherapy Program:

The SomaTherapy program is a specialized manual therapy program targeted at the treatment of the human fascial system. The program is based on osteopathic principles and Manual Etiotherapy principles, Guy Voyer’s studies on the fasciae as an anatomist and his clinical experience as an osteopath. It is a clinician-based curriculum designed to teach the fundamentals of normalizing fluid flow in all fasciae and joints throughout the body. These are the four main courses that contain 3-4 courses within each.

OsteoArticular Joint Pumping:

The facilitation of the movement of water within the joint complex (synovial fluid, water in the collagen tubes of ligaments, tendons, bursae, and lymph) is the the main goal of osteo-articular pumping.

Fascial Normalization:

Treatment of entire chains of fascia Continuity of the collagen tubes from the lateral heel to the sacrotuberous ligament to the transversospinalis fascia AND Contiguity, fascia that is immediately adjacent (therefore related) and has a direct influence on the function.

Transverse Tendinous and Ligamentous Stretching (2TLS):

TTLS is a technique that addresses the structural needs and sensory functions of ligaments and tendons. Our body’s ligaments and tendons contain specialized cells that work to provide sensory information to our central nervous system. Because our ligaments and tendons have a larger proportion of these sensory cells compared to other areas of our body, different treatment strategies and exercises are required.

Treatment of the 4 Diaphragms:

Now, after 3 years, these experienced and elite therapists will learn how to solve more complex imbalances that are seen throughout the body. Examples: spondylolisthesis, scoliosis, prolapses, hernias, long term concussion symptoms, chronic headaches via the dura mater or ventricles, organ dysfunction…to name a few.

SomaTraining Program:

The SomaTraining Program is considered by Guy VOYER, DO to be one of the most important components of his educational paradigm. It is offered to those who are interested in working with athletes at all levels, and those who are using exercise and wellness techniques to improve the general health and function of their clients.

The program is designed for exercise professionals and manual therapists to improve their anatomical and biomechanical knowledge, while teaching a wide range of analytical exercise techniques paired with a way of thinking that allows them to deal with complex issues their patients and clients may present.

The SomaTraining curriculum is organized into 13 courses and integrates very precise and specific exercise techniques, ranging from analytical and segmental training to proprioception and myofascial stretching. The exercises learned are an integral and supportive part of VOYER’s therapeutic treatment paradigm, helping clients reach optimum health, and athletes reach maximum levels of performance.

SomaTraining is a unique methodology to rehabilitation and strength & conditioning built on osteopathic principles. It’s born from the paradigm of complexity, similarly to the human body. The SomaTraining program consists of in-depth lectures combined with practical sessions where students learn specific exercise techniques while they develop a more complex way of understanding the human body. These techniques are indispensable tools of athletic trainers, physiotherapist, osteopaths, chiropractors, personal trainers and other body workers and health/wellness professionals. While each module gives students a very unique and different set of tools, students will develop their way of thinking in the complexity model and tensegrity biomechanics over the course of several modules. The diploma of SomaTrainer will be awarded at the end of the program.

Cold Laser:

Cold Laser Treatment delivers a deep, penetrating, photonic (light) energy to bring about profound physiological changes. Laser therapy increases ATP ( or energy) production within each cell, angiogenesis or formation of new capillaries to damaged tissues, reduction of inflammatory prostaglandins while increasing anti inflammatory prostaglandin release, stimulation of immune cells, increased endorphin relief, increased nitric oxide production and blocking of C fibers or nerve fibers carrying pain signals to the brain.

Simply put, laser therapy reduces pain, increases wound and tissue healing, increases circulation, stimulates regeneration of peripheral nerves, improves nerve function, reduces muscle spasms, speeds up tissue repair, reduces inflammation, swelling and scar tissue formation. This therapy can be added to a typical appointment or scheduled by itself (depending on the injury it can take between 2-10 mins).

Postural Strengthening Classes:  (group series offered several times a year and 1-on-1 anytime)

Dr. Janeen is also a biomechanics nerd and loves to assist her patients in understanding how injuries occur and how they can be avoided.  Proper movement patterns are key in maintaining a strong, stable, and long-lasting (happy) body.  She incorporates all the movement therapies she has learned through the years into an ever changing, exciting, and self-assuring exercise class.

Testimonial

I've been in Dr. Janeen Hulbert's profession long enough to recognize clinical excellence when I see it.  I've been in her presence long enough to know that she delivers a level of care our patients deserve but seldom receive.

Given her skill, dedication and empathy, I'm convinced that she will be acknowledged as one of our greatest chiropractors.

David S. Urion, D.C.
