Originally from the Adirondack Mountains, Dr. Janeen has always had a passion for the outdoors and spends her time-off playing disc golf, hiking, kayaking, fly fishing, rollerblading, biking, spending time with her chickens, and homebrewing. Dr. Janeen stumbled upon Asheville after traveling all over the United States in search for a locally driven community that values personal health. “I truly feel fortunate to be an active member in this lively city; Asheville is eclectic, embracing, and surrounded by breath-taking mountains! What else could you ask for?”
In addition to her passion for the outdoors, Dr. Janeen has always been motivated to learn, especially when it comes to human biomechanics. She attended Cortland State University and graduated top of her class, Summa Cum Laude honors with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology; Fitness Development. While at Cortland, she competed in Track and Field as well as Team Handball and earned a National Championship.
Dr. Janeen received her Doctorate in Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College and also graduated Summa Cum Laude of her class. With a deep understanding of human biomechanics, she has been very successful treating a wide variety of patients in her private practice, VA Hospitals, Medical Hospitals, Community Outreach Programs, Outpatient Clinics, and Undergraduate Colleges. Dr. Janeen is a Licensed Chiropractor by the North Carolina State Board and is also Board certified in Physiotherapy. Dr. Janeen has a long history of teaching Anatomy & Physiology and has taught in a wide range of settings such as colleges, massage schools, and doctorate level anatomy dissection labs. She enjoys keeping her skills and knowledge fresh in her mind so she can continue to grow her understanding of the body and tackle complex concepts and newly discovered anatomy structures.
“Having Janeen’s hands work on my neck and back was always a healing experience. Her deep knowledge of how the body works came through in her hands. She worked deeply but with gentleness and confidence, and always checking in to see how I was doing. Each session was so comprehensive---chiropractic work, soft tissue, information on nutrition and also a few exercises for me to do on my own. Unfortunately, Janeen relocated to NC or else I would definitely continue to see her!”
